Geology
Firstly it started with muddy sediments under the oceans; it changed the heat and pressure of the rocks and was lifted by movements of the continental plate and volcano eruptions. The eruptions and the movements of the continental plate were resulted in the Great Dividing Range. The rocks were sloped gently in the west while the east was very deep.
The erosion created by the wind, rain, storms and ice caved out the highlands of the northern tablelands, rivers and streams gradually run out of water. That creates a gorge, it eventually form one continuous slope that is at the end of the plateau.
